William David Houghland

William David “Dave” Houghland, age 72, passed away on July 6th, 2026, in Washington, Indiana. Dave was born on March 23, 1954, to Carl W. and Mary Ellen “Kirchoff” Houghland.

David graduated from North Knox High School in 1972 and later from Vincennes University. He attended Indiana State University and received his Master’s Degree. David went on to teach science and math at several high schools.

After teaching for several years, he went to work driving a truck. David retired from Ford Sawmill.

David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Messel (Jeff), and his brother, C. Thomas Houghland (Melissa). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Pastor John Trotter.
