William Gerald Carpenter

William “Jerry” Carpenter 77, of Bicknell, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Jerry was born in Ragsdale, IN on March 27, 1942 to the late William “Bill” Carpenter and Esther (Ridgway) Carpenter. He worked for Pepsi Cola in sales and delivery for 39 years. He also was employed at Double Cola/ Grapette for 2 years and was a service station attendant in Bicknell. Jerry was a devoted husband and family man, who in his free time enjoyed working on cars.

Survivors include; his loving wife of 60 years, Doris Carpenter; children, Elizabeth Curtis (Kevin), Jay Carpenter (Sherry), Steven Carpenter (Jana), Tammy Wilder (Chris), Jerald Carpenter (Tausha); many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert “Frank” Carpenter; and one sister, Helen Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Doris Carpenter ; two brothers, Red and Virgil Carpenter.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20,  2020 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt, Bicknell Chapel and a second visitation from 10 A.M.  until the time of the service on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Asbury Chapel Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jerry’s Memory to Parkinson's Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
