Shane Lamb Obituary

Shane Allen Lamb, a man whose infectious smile and boundless love for life touched the hearts of many, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at his home in Oaktown, Indiana. Born in Vincennes on July 7, 1960, Shane was a beacon of joy and friendship throughout his 63 years.

After graduating from Sullivan High School in 1978, Shane dedicated his professional life as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 135 and later as a member of the Operator’s Local 841 Union. Also a member of the  Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association. He was one of 27 proud owners of the horse, Dossier.

Beyond work, Shane's spirit truly shone. He was a fervent member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church and an active supporter of the Future Farmers of America. His zest for life manifested in his love for eating, playing cards, gambling, and attending horse races. Shane's friends were many, as he lived by the motto that to have a friend, one must be a friend. His welcoming and outgoing nature ensured that there was no such thing as a stranger in Shane’s world, only friends he hadn’t met yet.

Shane's skills as a World Champion barrel racer with horses brought him much acclaim, yet his humility remained one of his most endearing qualities.

Left to cherish Shane's memory is his beloved companion, Tina Donnoe, and his children, Shelby and Shanson Lamb, all of Oaktown, IN. He is also survived by his sister, Carrie Fosdick (Steve), his niece Tandie Cottingham (Justin) Linton, IN, nephew Rance Fosdick (Autumn) Sullivan, IN, great-nieces and -nephews Renn, Kai, Jae Cottingham, Addie, and Crew Fosdick, along with his stepmother, Cherie Rittenberry of Evansville, IN, and his step sister Kim Wilson (George).

Shane was preceded in death by his parents, Marlene "Timms" Lamb and Wendell Lamb. A spirit as generous and joyful as Shane's will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love and friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
