Micheal Gayer Sr Obituary

Micheal Everett Gayer Sr. 77 of Vincennes went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 2, 2020. Mike was all about his family, his Kids, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. A very involved Father and Papaw, coaching kids and grandkids alike, loved to fish, camp, gardening, to drink coffee with his buddies and an avid IU fan. Always there for those in need..Papaw to many, loved by all. 

He was born in Jefferson County KY to the late Melvin E. Gayer Sr. and Hilda Masters Stubblefield. Micheal was a distributor for Frito Lay, furniture store owner with his  brother Mel in Warsaw KYand a member of the Vincennes First Christian Church for over 60 years. He was also a former member of the Vincennes Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include; three children, Lisa McGregor (Marvin) of Vincennes, Angela Gayer of Vincennes, and Micheal E. Gayer Jr. (Cathy) of Vincennes; three grandchildren, Brittany Patterson, Jarrod Gayer, Taylor Tislow; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Mel Gayer (Mellissa) of Vila Hills, KY.

He was preceded in death by; parents, one brother, Timothy Gayer; and his grandparents, Clarence and Effie Gayer.

A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Saturday March 7, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes with Rev William Pieper officiating. There will be a Celebration of his Life held at Lasata Winery immediately following service till about 5:30 Indiana time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel.
