Obituary

Maridell Miller Sargent 85, of Bicknell, IN went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

 

Maridell was born in Bicknell, IN on January 24, 1936 to the late Ernest Miller and Laura Johanningsmeier Miller.

Maridell married Rowe Sargent on March 2, 1958 and they spent many wonderful years together in Bicknell, IN. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and helping anyone in need of help. Maridell was employed by North Knox School Corporation as a nurse and an attendance officer.  She loved serving the community and was a member of various boards throughout her career.  Her favorite quote was "Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy on earth." 

She is survived by; her children, Mark Sargent (Deanna), Susan Brocksmith (Mike); brother, Bruce Miller (Terri); sister-in-law, Mary Ann Miller; 4 grandchildren, Patrick Sargent, Chris Sargent, Victoria Nicksic (Peter), and Casandra DeBord (Nathan); and 1 great-grandchild, Everett Paul DeBord.

She was preceded by; her parents, Ernest and Laura Miller; loving husband, Rowe Sargent; brother, John Miller; sister, Ruth Burton.

Visitation will be at Bethel Christian Church, 13673 E. State Road, Edwardsport, IN 47528, on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a service following also at the church on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
