Lucille Rae (Ruminer) (Ruminer) Bowers

Lucille Rae Bowers, 96, left the Willow Manor Nursing Home, and went to be with the Lord, May 31, 2021, at 5:05 p.m. Lucille was born April 21, 1925, in Knox County, to Lurean (Kinnaman) Ruminer and Thomas A. Ruminer. On April 28, 1947, Lucille married Donald Bowers in Kentucky, and they made their home together in Knox County until his passing in 2012.

Lucille was a high school graduate, who worked in Osborn's Dress Shop for about ten years before devoting herself full time to her family and home. She enjoyed reading the Bible daily, and was an avid traveler. Her love of travel took her to the Holy Lands, China, and many other places around the globe. Lucille was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, and a current member of the First Baptist Church in Bicknell.

Lucille leaves behind her daughter, Becky (Bowers) Smith and son-in-law Bill Smith of Vincennes, and three grandchildren: Greg McCulley of Elliottsville; Richard (Meghan) Smith of Evansville; and Kristina (Michael) Lewis of Vincennes.

Those who preceded Lucille in death are: her parents Lurean and Thomas Ruminer; her husband Donald Bowers; son Donald Bowers, Jr.; sisters Sharon Slapp and Betty Tilly; and brothers William Ruminer and David Ruminer.

Visitation for Lucille Rae Bowers will be Saturday, June 5, 11:00 am - 1:00 p.m. at the Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel, 109 E. 6th Street, Bicknell IN. The funeral will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Bicknell Chapel with Pastor Jon McKinnon officiating. Interment will be in the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.

The family asks that donations be made in Lucille's memory to the First Baptist Church, 317 Washington Street, Bicknell Indiana 47512.
