Kathryn Rose (Hankins) Zeabart

Kathryn Rose Hankins Zeabart, age 94, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Oak Village Health Care Center, Oaktown IN. Kate was born December 14, 1925 in Sullivan, IN. Kate called Vincennes, IN her home for over 40 years. 

“When I die, I will already be in heaven (I hope) but no matter the Lord will be taking care of me; my death is a celebration.  It will be a reunion of those I love in heaven and I hope it will be a family reunion for those I dearly love on earth. For those that truly know me -- I shed tears when I am happy -- It’s OK.”

Kate was a most loving and devoted daughter, sister, friend, aunt, godmother, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Richard H Zeabart, her parents Eva Marie (Buckley) and James Arthur Hankins, sisters Mary Harding and Margaret Dietz, and brother Bill Hankins. Kate is survived by her son: Timothy H (Linda) Zeabart of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren: Brandon(Michaela) Zeabart, Donja (Shane) Goodwill, Kaylee, Skylar, Maliki, & Tiffany Zeabart; great-grandchildren: Maelynn & Adley Zeabart, Kyle Bradlee and Gavin Goodwill; cousin and caregiver Norma (Howard) Unger of Carlisle, IN, many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Kate was a member of St John’s Catholic Church, Vincennes, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Vincennes, IN and VFW Auxiliary, Lawrenceville, IL. Arrangements handled by Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church street Vincennes, IN.  Graveside Services only at Mount Calvary Cemetery January 30, 2020 at 1:30 PM. Honorary Pallbearers:  Brandon Zeabart, David Patterson, Daniel Zeabart, Greg Zeabart, Rick Zeabart, Beth Ochs, Kathryn Brown, Jim Dietz, Gregg Lawrence, Kathy West, Janet Hays, and Jo Ann Sporleder. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to St John’s Catholic Church, Vincennes, IN, First United Methodist Church in Sullivan or the charity of your choice in Kate’s honor.
