Janice Lucile (Pennington) Richter

Janice Pennington Richter 79, of Edwardsport, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 17, 2020. 

She was born in Connersville, IN. April 15, 1940 to the late Ernest Pennington and Rebecca Morris Pennington. 

Janice was an administrative assistant at Fort Benjamin Harrison from which she retired. She enjoyed gardening, traveling With her husband Marv, her family, and her church family; she was very devoted to her church family and loved doing Bible School activities with Marv at Bethel Church.

Survivors include; her loving husband, Marvin W. Richter; children, Dewey Douglas Sparks (Rhonda) of Connersville, Darron L. Sparks (Jenny) of Anderson, David D. Sparks of Indianapolis; stepson, Matthew Richter (Stacy) of Indianapolis; siblings, Judy Pennington Lamb of Connersville, sister-in-law, Lucille Sparks Gay of KY, Judy Sparks Legere (Dick), Eva Sparks, Phyllis Richter Thomas Sweeney (PR) of Vincennes; nine grandchildren, Emily Sparks Ellis (Ray), Chelsie Sparks Nuce (Joseph), Zane Sparks (Amanda), Dewey Douglas Sparks Jr, Daniel Sparks, Jenna Sparks, Kassandra Sparks, Deanna Grace Sparks, Levi Richter; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by; her first husband Dewey Sparks, a son, Dennis Sparks; and a brother, Jack Pennington.

There will be a visitation on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Bethel Christian Church, 13763 E. State Rd. 58 Edwardsport, IN 47528 from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. with a service immediately following that will be officiated by Pastor Mike DeCoursey. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
