James Shoup Obituary

James B. Shoup 80 of Washington, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family.

 

Jim was born in Peoria, IL on January 2, 1942 to the late Josephine Rice Shoup and Melvin M. Shoup. He married his dear wife, Beverly Siever Shoup on November 18, 1967 in Creve Coeur, IL.

 

Jim was a bookkeeper for B&W Construction for over twenty years; after his tenure there, he worked for Kimball International from where he retired. Jim was a member of New Hope Christian Church and enjoyed fellowship with his church family and his family at home. He liked model cars, singing,  playing games on the computer, working crossword puzzles, and in his younger years bowling. Jim was a United States Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and was also stationed in Germany while serving his country.

 

Those left to mourn the loss of Jim are; his devoted wife, Beverly Shoup; children, Lori Garcia, Erick Shoup (Staci), and Kelly Atkins (Ryan); grandchildren, Julian Garcia, Nicolas Garcia (Sarah), Briana Hawkins, Olivia Shoup, Joseph Shoup; and one nephew, Kent Shoup.

 

He was preceded in death by; his parents; and a brother Melvin J. Shoup.

 

Arrangements will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at New Hope Christian Church, 559 E. 100 S. Washington, IN 47501 from 10:00 A.M until 12:00 P.M.  with a service immediately following also at the church and Military Funeral Honors. Burial will take place at a later date.
