Hal Curtis Williams

Hal Curtis Williams, 88, of Oaktown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Vincennes, Indiana. Born on June 27, 1935, in the very town that shaped his life's story, he was the son of the late Sarah (Hislip)Williams and Curt Williams. His journey reunited him with his wife of over 60 years, Marilyn Sue (Reitmeyer) Williams, his sister, Peggy (Williams) Scott, and his cherished dog, Lucky. 

His warm presence will be dearly missed, yet the legacy of his gentle spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of his devoted son, Kent Williams (Jill) of Oaktown and his grandson Curtis Kade Williams. 

A proud 1953 graduate of Oaktown High School, Hal went on to dedicate his life to farming where he cultivated a network of lasting friendships. As a man of faith, Hal was deeply involved in the Oaktown Christian Church where he served as a trustee. He was an active member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #291. 
Trap shooting at the Oaktown Gun Club, playing a round of golf, a trip to a casino, and engaging in spirited card games with friends were some of his favorite pastimes . However, Hal’s number one joy in life was following his grandson “Kade” on his many adventures. 

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Oaktown Christian Church, 103 School St. Oaktown, IN 47561 with a service immediately following which will be officiated by Richard Stewart. Burial will follow in Oaktown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Oaktown Christian Church.
