Gene Timmel Obituary

Gene “Paul” Timmel, 94 of Servierville, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June17,2026. He was born March 13,1932 in Petersburg, IN to the late Robert Paul and Mary Elizabeth Timmel.

My Dad was an amazing man. He was an intelligent, devoted, strong, supportive, loving Husband, Father and Provider.

He is survived by his daughter Tami Timmel, his son Tim Timmel, his brother Ron Mitchell, daughter-in-law Zelda Timmel, 2 grandchildren Julian Leonard (and wife Melodie) and Kaeley Timmel and 2 great grandchildren Lucien and Everest Leonard.

He loved his years in the Air Force as an Electrical Engineer. From a young age he had a fascination with airplanes. He managed the Computer Operations Department at Sams Publishing, Indianapolis, Indiana, a subsidiary of IT&T. He was a Condominium Manager in Florida where he Managed several Luxury Hi-rise Buildings.

He was a very talented artist. He loved painting and he loved sharing his paintings with family, friends, children, doctors and complete strangers. My Dad just loved bringing joy to people.He loved to travel. Whether it be road trips or cruises he loved experiencing new places and more so meeting new people.

My Dad was a man of faith. He and my Mom both participated in Methodist church for many years. He dearly loved being of service to the church and to God.

My Dad touched so many hearts and has left a lasting impression on so many lives. He will live forever in our hearts.

Gene Paul is also preceded in death by his wife, Reba Timmel.

We bid Gene Paul Timmel farewell on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 A.M at Sugarland Memory Gardens (4334 IN-57), in Washington, Indiana 47501 with a send off of Military Funeral Honors.
