Elinor J. Thompson, aged 91, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, in Bloomington, Indiana. She was a treasured resident of Martinsville, Indiana, where she was born on August 16, 1932, to the late Otha Pearl Laughlin Boyd and Carl Stanley Boyd. Elinor then put roots down in Daviess County, Indiana and was a 1950 graduate of Odon High School.
Elinor's radiant spirit and warm heart will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Terry Pate, and Patricia Ortega-Stuffle (Gary). Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Joshua Auxier, Jake Auxier, Jennifer Coyle, Courtney McCleave, and Jordan Robison, and is further cherished in the joyous lives of her two great-grandchildren.
Her life was one rich with the devotion of family and a career marked by diligence. As a budget analyst for Crane, she demonstrated exceptional skill and integrity. Elinor's involvement with Bethel Church reflected her commitment to faith and community. Those who knew her will miss the melodies of her piano playing, the beauty of her quilts, and the vibrant colors of her paintings.
While Elinor's absence leaves a void, her influence remains indelible in the lives of those who loved her. Preceding her in death were her dear husband, Myron Thompson, sister, three brothers, and son-in-law, Marvin Pate. Elinor's journey was one of love, dedication, and creativity, and her memory will be honored by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
