Albert “Al” Mackey Obituary

Albert “Al” Mackey, age 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024. Born on November 17, 1948, in Freelandville, Indiana, to the late Lillian Grabbe Mackey and Carl Mackey, Albert was a cherished member of his family and the community. An esteemed entrepreneur, he owned a successful trucking company that served as a testament to his hard work and dedication.

Albert dedicated himself to faith and service as a minister at Decatur Church of Christ for five years, touching the lives of many through his wisdom and compassion. His love for classic cars was only eclipsed by the adoring love for his family. Albert’s legacy will be fondly remembered and carried on through his dear children, Ryan Mackey (Shannon), Troy Mackey, and Tracy Wilson (Richard), all of Ohio.

Albert's joyful spirit lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Brad Mackey, Ashton Wilson, Corbin Wilson, and Mira Wilson, and his great-grandchildren, Hensley and Xander Mackey, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Myron (Kathy), Allan (Beth), Kris (Joyce), Daniel (Donna), Corlena (Tony), Mark (Kathy), and Joseph (Michele), along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly; and his dear friend, Sharyn Mackey.

While we mourn his loss, we celebrate the rich and meaningful life Albert led. He brought laughter, strength, and unwavering support to everyone he knew. Though he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Christian Mackey, and a nephew, Carl Cabello, his memory remains a beacon of light in the hearts of those who loved him. Albert’s life was a journey of love, commitment, and faith—a journey that has left an indelible mark on his family and friends. We will treasure him in our memories forever.
