William E Wolfe

William E. Wolfe died peacefully on Sunday morning, July 21, 2019 at Oak Village Nursing Home. He was born on February 10, 1923 in Vincennes, Indiana the son of Earl and Hazel(Waddell) Wolfe. 

In his lifetime, Bill worked as a herdsman, truck driver for Bob Green of Green Construction, construction worker and Carpenter. He last worked for Wolfe Construction Company Inc. in Vincennes as the shop foreman for 26 years.  He worked hard all his life and had a strong work ethic as only those from the greatest generation had. Bill never knew a stranger and had a quick wit and humor about him and an amazing memory. He loved to dance, play music, play cards and travel every chance he got. He also loved horses. It wasn’t  too long ago you could see Bill and Helen in the golf cart leading his pony “Red” throughout Oaktown visiting with everyone along the way. Bill who was also known as Poppy to his loving grandchildren, was so loved by his family and friends and he loved us all in return just as much. He was a Christian and loved the Lord and it showed by the way he lived his life.

Bill is survived by his wife of 13 years Helen Brower Mason Wolfe, his sons Michael E. (Vicki) Wolfe, Stephen R. (Kathy) and daughter-in-law Tammy Wolfe. His step-children; Helen (Kim) Monroe, Nina (Fred) Spinks, Kaye Alexander, Robert ( Judy) Alexander, Ruthanne Alexander, Donald George Alexander, Charles Alexander, Jim(Terri) Alexander, Sara (Tony) Jensen, Kelly (Tracy) Mason, Mark (Cathy) Mason, Terry (Chuck) Parks, Bill (Teresa) Mason, daughters-in-law Lissa Mason and Tonja Mason, brother Bob Wolfe, 46 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and 10 great great great grandchildren also survive. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Betty Lou (Stultz) Wolfe, his second wife Louise (Alexander) Wolfe, daughters Debbie Wolfe and Deanna (Wolfe) Skaggs, son Mark A Wolfe, step- sons, Jackie Mason and Stan Mason, brothers Fred Wolfe and Ed Wolfe and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Thursday July 25, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Oaktown Christian Church 103 School St. Oaktown, Indiana 47561. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 24, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the church. He will be laid to rest in Shepherds Cemetery.  In leu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to G.O.O.D Organization of Oaktown.
