Shannon G. Alton

Shannon G. “Yeti” Alton, 39, Monroe City, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Shannon was born May 31, 1979, in Vincennes, the son of Kimberly Durwin and Lisa Kathleen (Abel) Alton. He married Karista Dawn Cox on July 14, 2003. He was a computer control specialist. He was on the IAK Audio team, loved motorcycles, four wheeling, car audio systems and his family.
Shannon is survived by his wife, Karista Cox-Alton of Monroe City; mother, Lisa Alton of Monroe City; children, Summer A. Alton of Wheatland, Austin A. Alton, Zachary R. Alton and Samuel C. Alton, all of Monroe City; granddaughter, Wynter L. Carpenter; sister, Sunee Alton of Monroe City; brother, Daniel M. Alton of Nashville, IN; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and friend, Brett Willis.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. A private committal will be held at a later date.
