Penny Jo (Hankins) Smith

Penny Jo Smith, 72, Vincennes, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her residence. Penny was born February 17, 1945, in Versailles, IN, the daughter of Casper and Jennie (Rocca) Hankins. She married Virgil Smith on October 23, 1981. She worked for Universal Scientific as a press operator at the circuit boards. She enjoyed going to yard sales, out to eat with friends and family, collecting Beanie Babies, gardening and flowers. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Penny is survived by her husband, Virgil Smith of Vincennes; daughters, Robin (Frank) Davis of Bloomington; daughter Shannon (Mike) Carman of Napoleon, IN; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Greene and Sharon Smith; and brother, Jack Hankins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Jarrod Chattin officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service also at the funeral home.
