John Bradley Buck, 71, of Freelandville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in a motor vehicle accident with his wife and partner in life, Rita A. (Jordan) Buck. John was born February 14, 1948 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Russell and Sarah (Hollis) Buck. He grew up in Bicknell, graduating from North Knox High School in 1966. He married Rita, the love of his life, in August of 1966.
Early in life John worked at Crane NSW, the Vincennes Parks and Recreation Department, and as a disc jockey for a local radio station. He saw much of America over the course of many years before retiring from the trucking industry. He was an amateur radio operator, enjoyed reading, tinkering in his garage, and classic cars. He also enjoyed gardening, a hobby he shared with his wife, Rita. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his three children, Christopher (Jamie) Buck, Shannon (Darren) Buck-Lacey, and Jordan (Natalie) Buck, grandchildren Taylor, Ethan, Caiden, and Greyson, seven nephews, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Melissa (Buck) Puckett, and his brother Russell “Holly” H. Buck.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel, 109 E. 6th St., Bicknell, Indiana. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 405 Main St., Vincennes, Indiana 47591.
