Joann Cardinal Obituary

Joann Cardinal, 77, Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Joann was born March 5, 1940, in Vincennes, the daughter of Walter E. And Ethel E. (Evans) Arnold. She married Max Ray Cardinal on July 11, 1955. She retired as a nurse’s aide at Good Samaritan Hospital. Joann was a Soldier of the Salvation Army, a member of the Silver Star and was the secretary of the women’s ministry of the Salvation Army.

Joann is survived by her daughters, Katherine (Timothy) Wilson of Bicknell and Sandra Cardinal of Vincennes; sons, Max (Kelsey) Cardinal of Oakley, CA, Doug Cardinal of Wauchula, FL and Tom (Paula) Cardinal of Cincinnati; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Jones of Bicknell and Charlotte Erick of Indianapolis; and brothers, Tom (Leoda) Arnold of Vincennes, Morris Arnold of Monroe City, Eddy (Mary) Arnold of Des Moines, IA and Bill (Becky) Arnold of Vincennes. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Cardinal on May 20, 2011; six brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Major Tim Wilson officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service also at the funeral home.
