Elmer J. Lambiotte, 98 of Vincennes was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. Elmer was born December 18, 1920 to the late Fernand Lambiotte and Jeanne Lambiotte (Diesbecq). In November of 1945 he married Betty Cobb and she preceded him in death.
Elmer was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Member of the Vincennes Knights of Columbus where he served as past Grand Knight. He retired In 1967 from the United States Air Force where he served his country by traveling all over the world to many locations and also surviving in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Elmer was also a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, M.O.A.A., he was past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge of Vincennes and a member of the Air Force Association.
Elmer is survived by; his children, Jeanne “Susie” Marando (Edward) of Vincennes, Mark S. Lambiotte (Myriam) of Edwardsville, Illinois and Hillary “Janie” Hewitt (John) of La Vergne, TN.; seven grandchildren, Pat Jackson, Mike(Kristen)Jackson, Jay Jackson, Anthony Marando, Jennifer(Bobby) McWhorter, Matthew(Renae) Lambiotte, and Laura Lambiotte; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Elmer was preceded in death by; a brother, Joseph Lambiotte; and two sisters, Georgette Billings and Mary Brocksmith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt, Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Old Cathedral Church, 205 Church St. Vincennes, IN 47591. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where the All Weather Firing Squad will preform Military Honors. Memorial donations may be made to the Christian Education Foundation 229 Church St. Vincennes, Indiana 47591.
