Donald Harvey Cone

Don Cone 84, Bicknell, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2017. He was born in Bicknell, the son of Charles H. and Evelyn (Craig) Cone. He attended Bicknell High School and graduated in 1951. Don served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957 on the U.S.S Snyder. He was an electronics technician First Class. He then came back home and joined the family business of Cone Electric. Don became sole owner of Cone Electric in 1976. He serviced numerous customers in the Knox County and surrounding areas for over 46 years retiring in 2003. In his younger years, he enjoyed scuba diving, golfing, and working on old cars. He married Marifrances Courter on October 16, 1982 and made their lives together for 26 years. He and Marifrances enjoyed traveling with Florida being their favorite destination. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He and Marifrances enjoyed spending time with their grandkids and family, reading, and watching golf and football on TV. Don is survived by his step-daughter, Kiley (Mike) Koenig of Vincennes; grandchildren, Livie and Leevi Koenig; brother, Charles A. Cone of Bicknell and Ed Cone of Los Gatos, CA. He will be missed by his nieces and nephew in California. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Marifrances. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel with Pastor Jon McKinnon officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service also at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in the Edwardsport Town Cemetery.
