Carl Henry Johanningsmeier

Carl Henry Johanningsmeier, 88, Freelandville, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Freelandville Community Home. Carl was born March 23, 1929, in Westphalia, the son of Edwin and Hilda (Spanger) Johanningsmeier. He married Marilyn Linneweber on June 20, 1950. Carl was a member of the Bethel Church, Christian Partners Sunday School Class, prominent member of many dairy organizations, founding board member of the Kyana Milk Producers which later merged and became part of Dairymen, Inc., board member and president of the Indiana Holstein Association, an Indiana Master Farmer and a brother Gideon of the Knox County Camp.
Carl is survived by his children, Roger (Chris) Johanningmeier of Edwardsport and Carla (Tony) Roberts of Hampstead, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Johanningsmeier, Kari Preston, Jeffrey (Kate) Johanningsmeier, Olivia (Will) Adair and Reed (Erica) Roberts; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn on July 22, 2013; son, Doug Johanningsmeier; brothers, Alfred and Elmer Johanningsmeier; and sister, Mary Ann Johanningsmeier.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bethel Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Mike DeCoursey officiating. He will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery.
