Rickie Ray Harting

Rickie Ray Harting, 66, Sandborn, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Rickie was born September 2, 1951, in Knox County, the son of Edgar and Hannah (Martindale) Harting. He married Jane Whittington in 2005. He worked for Duke Energy for 35 years. He enjoyed music, especially gospel singing. He was a volunteer firefighter (1st Class Firefighter) for 34 years, an Emergency Medical Responder, Air Ambulance and a safety tech. Rickie was a member of the Edwardsport Baptist Church and the Sandborn Lion’s Club.
Rickie is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jane Harting of Sandborn; children, Cory Harting of Oaktown and Clay (Brandy) Harting of Odon; step-children, Bobby (Misty) Sweany of Bloomfield and Shannon Grow of Westphalia; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Harting officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM also at the funeral home with a firefighter service at 7:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Edwardsport Town Cemetery.
