Ellen Carol Kahre

Ellen Carol Kahre, 78, Vincennes, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a battle with cancer at Good Samaritan Hospital. Ellen was born September 3, 1939, in Vincennes, the daughter of Frank C. And Cecelia C. (Thais) Kahre. She graduated from St. Rose Academy in 1957. She retired from Security Bank. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. Ellen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Ellen is survived by her sister, Jane (Kahre) Shafer of Vincennes; brothers, Frank J. Kahre and Bill Kahre.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two younger brothers Steve and Mike Kahre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Catholic Church with Rev. Dave Fleck officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of Mass also at the church. She will be laid to rest at St. Vincent Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. assisted the family with arrangements.
