February 12, 1961 ~ July 11, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Charles Edward “Ed” Marchino, 56, Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence. Ed was born February 12, 1961, in Vincennes, the son of John N. and Margaret Ann (Wathen) Marchino. Ed was a South Knox graduate and attended Vincennes University. He married Rebecca Land on November 28, 1992. He was a sixth generation farmer in Palmyra Township on a homestead settled by Peter and Mary Marchino in the 1840’s. Ed was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Cheyenne Social Club, Cowboy Action Shooters, National Rifle Association, the local chapter of Friends of the NRA and a member of the Brothers of Bluegrass Fan Club.  He served on the Sacred Heart Parish Council and the Highland Park Board. Ed was a fan of western movies, a gun enthusiast and outdoorsman, enjoyed reading and studying the Holy Bible and was an amateur photographer.  He had also been a licensed real estate agent.  He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, godfather, friend and protector who will be missed by all.   

 

Ed is survived by his wife, Rebecca; brother, John C. (Lori) Marchino of Vincennes; sisters, Julie Marchino of Vincennes and Marilyn (Tom) Westfall; nephews, John Lee and Curtis Marchino, Nathan Westfall, Jason, Jacob, Ryan and Will Land; nieces, Maggie Westfall, Katie, Emma, Mia, Eva and Lily Land; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother and father-in-law, James and Barbara Land.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck officiating. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. assisted the family with arrangements.
