Dorothy Lorraine Wolfe, 88, Oaktown, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at home.
Dorothy was born Nov. 14, 1928, in Knox County, the daughter of Lowell and Jessie (Wright) Westfall. She was preceded in death by her husband James V. Wolfe, who died on May 5, 2011. They were married on Sept. 15, 1945 and were long-time residents of Emison.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 27 years. She was an active member of Emison United Methodist Church, serving the church in many roles.
She is survived by one daughter, Lola Holscher, and her husband Isaac Williams, of Oaktown, two sons, Bill Wolfe and his wife, Sue, of Bruceville, and Jeff Wolfe and his wife, Linda, of Mickleton, N.J.; four grandchildren, A.J. Wolfe, Amanda Wolfe Swettenam, Ryan Wolfe and Michael Wolfe; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew Wolfe, Emily Wolfe, Tyler Wolfe, Blake Swettenam and Lily Swettenam.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bruceville Chapel, with Pastor Robert Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the Mariah Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bruceville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emison United Methodist Church.
