Derek Stephen Miller

Derek Stephen Miller, 37, Bicknell, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Derek was born June 19, 1980, in Vincennes, the son of Jeff and Luellen (Byrer) Miller. He married Melinda Smith on July 25, 2015. He was a contractor for Wolfe Construction. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he was a jack of all trades, loved to create, modify, build, remodel, fix and improve things. He was a member of the Flatlanders Motorcycle Club.

Derek is survived by his wife, Melinda Miller; children, Journey, True and Emma; mother, Luellen Miller brothers, Jared (Laura) Miller of Whitestown, IN and Nathaniel Miller of Evansville; paternal grandmother,  Shirley “Shug” Miller of Freelandville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jeff; paternal grandfather, Dallas “Speed” Miller; and maternal grandparents, Eldon and Ethel Byrer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. A private service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.fredrickandson.com.
